TGIF! This girl is soo happy it’s Friday. Last weekend was so much fun that it made this week a bit of a drag. But no worries, because the weekend is here! Which means it is cocktail time (favorite part of the week).

I must confess, I was feeling a little uninspired this week when it came to creating a cocktail. I usually have an ingredient or cocktail glass that really drives me to create a certain recipe, but I came up empty this week. So, I decided to be creative and come up with something entirely original. Kombucha is one of my favorite refreshers during the day, because its sparkling and contains so many goodies. When I saw kumquats at the grocery store, I figured this K & K pair would make a great cocktail! And who doesn’t love a cocktail that’s good for you too?! I am so happy with the results. The slight bitterness of the kumquats balances perfectly with the kombucha, creating a super yummy and refreshing ‘tail. Try it out, and let me know what you think!

Kombucha Kumquat Cocktail (serves 2)

8 Kumquats, halved

1/2 of a Lime

1 oz. Simple syrup

5 oz. Vodka

16 oz. Kombucha (Healthade original flavor)

Ice

Muddle kumquat halves, lime wedges, and simple syrup in a large glass or shaker. Add vodka and kombucha, stir well. Strain mixture into two glasses filled with ice. Garnish with kumquats, rosemary, or any other greenery.

Cheers!

xx

Hello Ellis-I am so happy that you were able to join our #stylefocus Lifestyle LinkUp today! This cocktail looks fresh and fabulous! I haven’t had a kumquat for years but I loved them as a kid. I’m ready for a sip this very minute. I had the great fortune of having brunch at your parents gorgeous home last year, and traveling with your mom to Napa. Blogging has such wonderful perks! Have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Simple syrup is actually just a sugar and water mixture that is boiled down to make a syrup! It is very easy to make, and adds a nice sweetness to cocktails!
